Lozen
Artiste
Lozen isn’t much for boxes—because, as she says, “magic happens outside your comfort zone.” The bilingual Québécoise and now BC-based singer, songwriter, rapper, and bandleader thrives in the in-between spaces. Her music defies categorization, blending trippy R&B, progressive hip-hop, soulful jazz-infused ballads, and gritty electronic basslines. With evocative vocals and fearless honesty, Lozen’s sound is as bold as it is vulnerable—think Jessie Reyez and Lauryn Hill with a touch of Erykah Badu.
A seasoned impresario both on and off stage, Lozen wears many hats in the music industry. She’s a CHR radio host, Music Director, and multidisciplinary artist known for bridging underground culture with mainstream audiences. Grounded in early experiences with cyphers, jam sessions, and raves, her versatility has become her signature. Whether emceeing with precision, performing stripped-down acoustic sets, or fronting high-energy EDM collaborations, she commands every stage. Her-story includes opening for hip-hop icons like De La Soul, The Beatnuts, Blackalicious, Classified, and Maestro Fresh Wes, as well as electronic headliners Phibes, Stickybuds, and The Funk Hunters—showcasing her crossover range.
With her upcoming album Soul Path, Lozen returns to her roots as a songwriter: “Before I even got down with rap, I’d write songs on my guitar.” The project marks her first public step into production—a defining leap into full creative authorship. It’s a milestone that mirrors the growing visibility of women behind the boards. Co-created with WCMA Hall of Fame Inductee/Multi-Juno Award-winning producer DJ Kemo and Multi-Platinum engineer Roger Swan (Kardinal Offishall, Alicia Keys, Busta Rhymes), Soul Path is both sonically rich and spiritually resonant. The record channels Lozen’s lifelong connection to mysticism, philosophy, and storytelling—offering an intimate portrait of her evolution as artist and woman.
While known for her commanding voice in hip-hop—with releases on Sony/EMI, Urbnet, and Bombastic Jam—Soul Path unveils a quieter strength. It’s a move away from bravado and toward vulnerability: a willingness to be seen without armour. In a genre that often rewards hardness, she leans into softness—challenging what leadership and power can sound like in music.
But Soul Path is more than an album—it’s a movement. Founded by Lozen, Soul Path Records began as a label and evolved into a multidimensional space merging music, spirituality, and mindful publishing. Beyond music, Lozen is a dedicated intuitive and energy reader with over two decades of experience. Her quiet calling became a public one—a “throat activation,” as she calls it—that inspired Soul Path Tarot & Oracle, where she now guides others in their awakening.
She also authored Soul Path Guided Journal: A Journey of Consciousness, Intuition, and Spiritual Exploration, marking the launch of Soul Path Publishing. For Lozen, Soul Path isn’t a brand—it’s her life’s purpose in motion.
