Rhythm With Rae
Industry
Rae (she/her), also known as Charae Alexandra Degrow, is an Ottawa-based mix engineer, freelance audio technician, and artist. She is the founder of Rhythm With Rae, a growing platform where artistry and audio intersect.
Since January 2025, Rae has been developing her live sound career at Ottawa, Ontario venues including Club SAW, Algonquin Commons Theatre, and Bronson Centre Music Theatre, supporting touring artists from around the world. Her first Front of House experience came in June 2025, mixing for the Joeboy worldwide tour. She continues to grow her skills with mentorship and hands-on training on Allen & Heath, Midas, and DiGiCo consoles.
The studio is where Rae feels most at home. She earned her Music Industry Arts Honours Diploma from Algonquin College, where she spent 12 months refining her craft in the studio. She is highly comfortable in Pro Tools, with additional experience in Logic Pro and Studio One. Rae focuses on creating balanced, dynamic mixes that highlight emotion while maintaining clarity. Rae’s original songs "Overlap" and "Maniae" debuted on CBC Radio August 2025, where she served as recording engineer and co-producer in collaboration with Wayne Hawthorne.
Rae also works as a cinematic singer-songwriter and producer, blending orchestral-electronic textures with personal storytelling. She has collaborated with musicians such as cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne and the rock band Polarized to bring depth and energy to her performances. For Rae, every project is about more than technical work. It is about cultivating experiences where music sparks connection and connection builds community.
